DIRECTIONS: The Carriage Inn is on the corner of East Washington and Seminary Street in historic Charles Town. Parking is available in the paved area next to the garage and the Carriage House.
From Northern Virginia, follow Leesburg Pike, Rt. 7, west to junction with Rt. 9 about 4 ½ miles west of Leesburg. Just outside Charles Town, Route 9 turns off and the road you are on becomes South George Street. Stay on So. George St. into downtown Charles Town. At the intersection of So. George Street & Washington Street, turn right onto Washington St. Go 4 blocks and the Inn is on your right. Turn right onto Seminary Street and park in the parking area of the Inn.
From Washington, D.C., from the Beltway take I-270 to Frederick, MD. At the junction of I-270, I-70, Route 15 South and Route 340 West, follow signs to Charles Town via Routes 15 S & Route 340 West. Continue to follow signs to Charles Town via Route 340 at the point where Route 15 South to Leesburg separates from Route 340. Follow Route 340 West through Harpers Ferry to Charles Town. In WV, Rt. 340 West becomes Rt. 340 South. At the eastern edge of Charles Town Rt. 340 junctions with Rt. 51. Rt. 51 is also Washington St. Follow Washington St. into Charles Town. One long block west of the entrance to the Race Track turn left onto Seminary Street and park in the parking area of the Inn.
From Baltimore and eastern Maryland, take Interstate 70 West to the junction with US 340 West near Frederick. Cross the Potomac River into Virginia and West Virginia (In WV, Rt. 340 West becomes Rt. 340 South.) Continue on US 340 South through Harpers Ferry about 6 miles to junction with Rt. 51 at eastern edge of Charles Town. (Do not turn onto the Rt. 9/US 340 South Bypass). The road you are on becomes East Washington Street. Continue on East Washington Street, passing Charles Town Races & Slots three long blocks and turn left on Seminary Street and park in the parking area of the Inn.
Guests arriving at Dulles Airport take Rt. 267 (known as the Greenway) to Rt. 7. Turn onto Rt. 9 toward Charles Town, following signs for Charles Town through Hillsboro to its end at Rt. 340. Just outside Charles Town, Route 9 turns off and the road you are on becomes South George Street. Stay on So. George St. into downtown Charles Town. At the intersection of So. George Street & Washington Street, turn right onto Washington St. Go 4 blocks and the Inn is on your right. Turn right onto Seminary Street and park in the parking area of the Inn.
From Fredericksburg, proceed north on I-95 to US 17. US 17 joins I-66 for several miles. Stay on I-66 to Rt. 522. Take 522 to Rt. 340 North. Take 340 North toward Charles Town. Exit Rt. 340 North at the sign to Charles Town and Ranson, following Route 51 West into Charles Town. Washington Street is Route 51 West; proceed past the Racetrack entrance to Seminary St. Turn left on Seminary St. and park in the parking area of the Inn.
From Interstate 81, northbound, take the exit for 5 East at Inwood, junction Rt. 51, and proceed about 9 miles to Charles Town. At three way stop (junction with Rt. 13), turn left on Rt. 51 which becomes Washington St. Proceed through town. The Inn will be on your right. Turn right onto Seminary Street and park in the parking area of the Inn.
From Interstate 81, southbound, take exit 12 East on Rt. 45 continuing through junction with Rt. 9 east to Charles Town. At intersection with Rt. 51 west in Charles Town turn right. Rt. 51 is also Washington St. Follow Washington St. into Charles Town. Turn left onto Seminary Street and park in the parking area of the Inn.
From eastern Pennsylvania, take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to US 15 south near Harrisburg. Travel on Rt. 15 South and connect with Rt. 340 West outside of Frederick. Follow 340 West through Harper’s Ferry to Charles Town. In WV, Rt. 340 West becomes Rt. 340 South. At the eastern edge of Charles Town Rt. 340 junctions with Rt. 51. Rt. 51 is also Washington St. Follow Washington St. into Charles Town. Turn left onto Seminary Street and park in the parking area of the Inn.
